[London] 1896. 401 numbered paper leaves, title within architectural gateway decorated in color, numerous other colorfully framed pages, 483 x 375 mm. Contemporary black morocco, g.e. -- HEBREW MANUSCRIPT - Pinkas (decorated register of the Chevrah Tehillim and Bikkur Cholim of Maidman Street Synagogue, London, established in 1900). London, c. 1918. 36 leaves (24 blanks), various inks on thick cardboard, 425 x 320 mm., largely in Hebrew, with some English words in interesting Yiddish transliteration, the first pastedown and fol. 1rv with naive decoration (drawn and cut-out animal figures, different colored inks, monumental Hebrew lettering), with a dedication on the recto of the first flyleaf at the back: 'Presented by Mr. & Mrs. W. Jacobs, 10, Burdett Road, E3, in memory of their beloved son Julius Jacobs who fell in the Great War', in various ornate Ashkenazic squares, contemporary buckram rebacked, corners repaired.
