A cinnabar red lacquer rectangular box and hinged cover
carved with butterflies among trailing lotus flowers and foliage, the sides with swastika motifs -- 11½in. (29.2cms) wide, metal mounts; and three further cinnabar lacquer boxes of quatrefoil and spandrel forms, decorated with figures at leisure in a mountainous river landscape and precious objects among trailing flowers and foliage -- from 4¼in. (10.8cms) to 5½in. (14cms) wide, (slight damages and restoration).
