Lot Essay

Probably a unique example, taken from the original plaster.

Based in Tschikapa, in the Kasai, for eight years, Dupagne had an excellent knowledge of the Tschokwe people. However, since he moved around all over the Belgian Congo, he came across many other ethnic groups.

We are grateful to Marc Milstain for his assistance in preparing this catalogue entry.
