Maker's mark of Thomas Whitman, London, 1753, later chased and altered
Slightly baluster, on molded circular short base, the sides chased with flowers and foliate scrolls, on stippled ground, with applied girdle, scalework above, with acanthus clad, covered squat spout, engraved with crest and coronet, the hinged molded low domed cover with open thumbpiece and topped by eagle finial--9in. (22.7cm.) high, 31.5oz.
