A VICTORIAN SIX-PIECE SILVER TEA AND COFFEE-SERVICE AND MATCHING GEORGE V CREAM JUG AND TEA CADDY
Maker's mark of Mappin & Webb, London, 1894, the other two 1900 and 1909
Comprising tea kettle, stand and lamp, teapot, long necked coffee pot, two-handled open sugar basin, cream jug and hot-water jug, another cream jug and hinged covered caddy, each inverted pear shaped, on four foliate scroll supports, the bowed mid-section chased with floral festoons centering twice oval, ribbon tied cartouche, one engraved with Sassoon crest, the other monogrammed, with curved fluted neck, with decorated rim, with partly reeded leaf capped scroll handle, the pots with decorated spout, the hinged raised cover chased with radiating foliate calyx, topped by bud finial, the kettle on twice pinned, four footed circular stand--kettle on stand over fixed handle--16in.
