Shaped long oval, the wavy border chased with fish blowing air bubbles amid waves and sea plants at intervals, with partly molded rim, the underside monogrammed--24in. (60.9cm.) long, 73oz.

Lot Essay

The ledgers indicate it was completed in the summer 1905; recorded as 76 troy oz. eleven pennyweight of .9548 grade silver valued at $58.84. Twenty-five hours of smithing time to fashion (cost:$11.25,) and fifty-nine and a half hours to chase ($28.75); bobbed for forty minutes (cost: 17 cents) finishing of an hour and a half added 38 cents. Direct silver and labor costs totaled $99.39 plus overhead of 20 ($19.88), profit of 40 ($39.76) and Admin. costs ($7.95) for a total of $166.98-the net factory price was set at $180.00.
