Rectangular case with hinged cover and plain gold base, the sides and lid inset with rectangular panels of striated brown agate framed by a gold cagework elaborately chased and engraved with foliage and reeded c-scrolls, the pushpiece set with a stone, the gold interior of the base fitted with a pair of faceted glass bottles adorned with a chased and pierced gold cagework and with gold stoppers attached by gold chains, a larger similarly decorated faceted glass bottle, a gold-capped pencil, a folding knife with gold-mounted mother-of-pearl handle, and gold-mounted tablets -- 74 mm high
