A LOUIS XVI JEWELLED AND ENAMELLED BLUE GLASS AND GOLD SNUFF-BOX
Paris, 1784-1788, with the charge and discharge of Henry Clavel, maker's mark and date-lettre erased

Rectangular gold box with canted corners, the lid, sides, cut corners and base inset with blue glass panels underlaid with an engine-turned foil, the cover panel applied with a crowned monogram "MA" in rose-cut diamonds, surrounded by a band of rose-cut diamonds, the sablé borders chased with strings of white-enamelled beads twisted with translucent green enamelled trailing foliage -- 83 mm wide
