Paris, 1782/1783, with the charge and discharge of Henry Clavel, maker's mark rubbed including a "D" as second letter

Slightly tapering gold étui-à-cire of oval section, the slightly domed cover topped by a swirling rosette, the base with plain matrix, both cover and base with four engine-turned panels of horizontal reeding sprinkled with pellets, within borders of raised beads alternating with flowers -- 116 mm high.
