Slightly tapering ivory case of navette-shaped section, with arched top, the cover applied with a pierced gold motto "SOUVENIR D'AMITIÉ" with ribbon-tie surmounts, the base inset with two glazed miniatures on ivory, one painted with a young boy playing with a balloon in a landscape, the other with a trophy of love, the miniature frames and gold mounts stamped with a pattern of twisted ribbons, the interior of the base fitted to contain ivory tablets and a gold pencil -- 83 mm high, the ivory on the base with hairline crack
