Rectangular box with canted corners, the gilt-metal body applied with mother-of-pearl panels, that on the cover engraved in the centre with an English Ducal coronet with the motto "CRAIGNEZ HONTE" surrounded by Chinoiserie scenes, within a floral border, the sides and corners similarly engraved with cartouches of flowers and Chinoiserie, the base with a scrolling flower within a scalloped border, reeded silver mounts with slightly raised thumbpiece
