Rectangular étui-à-tablettes, lacquered in translucent red on an engine-turned scalework ground, the obverse inscribed with "Souvenir" in rose-cut diamonds on the cover and inset with an oval miniature of a young lady in blue dress with white lace-border, black choker, powdered upswept hair, in a ribbon-twist gold frame with diamond-set ribbon-tie surmount, the reverse of the cover applied with trophies in three-colour gold and diamonds, the base inset with an oval medallion containing a plaited hair panel with gold initials "CA", the gold mounts of the edges pierced and chased with c-scrolls, diamond-set pushpiece
