Slightly tapering rectangular étui-à-tablettes with rounded top, all sides set with bone panels, the sides of the cover applied with pierced gold inscriptions within leaf borders, reading SOUVENIR D'AMITIE, the base inset with two oval enamel miniatures, one of a couple in classical costumes at an Altar of Love, en grisaille, the other with a portrait of a young lady, both framed with pierced and chased gold mounts, the gold cagework mounts engraved with ovolos alternating with flowerheads, tablets inside, pencil missing
