Cartouche-shaped gold case, the obverse inset with a bloodstone panel engraved with a radiating motif and applied with a silver-mounted diamond-studded flowerspray, the reverse centred by a scrolling cartouche engraved with initials "MCP", surrounded by white enamelled basse-taille leaves on a burnished gold ground, both sides framed by black enamelled scroll borders, the sides engraved with tight scrolls, suspended from an engraved ring with two gold chains, the interior lined with white silk
