Circular tortoiseshell box, the gold mounts chased with a ribbon-twist motif, the cover set with a fixé-sous-verre miniature depicting the ballet of act V of Christoph Willibald Gluck's opera Armida of 1777, representing Rinaldo and the two Knights with furious Armida arriving, in a landscape with merrymaking warriors and dancing young witches in the background
