Geneva, circa 1800
Rectangular box with canted corners, the cover inset with a rectangular enamel plaque depicting a peasant couple with baby in a riverside landscape, framed by a frosted gold border, surrounded by translucent blue enamel depicting flowers, within a wavy matted gold border chased with scrolling foliage, flowers and masks, the base centred by a rectangular reserve depicting trophies of War in translucent blue enamel, framed by an opaque white enamel border, within a matted gold border chased with scrolling foliage and shells, the sides and corners with similarly decorated panels, that on the sides within blue enamel borders, that on the corners framed by an opaque white enamel band, the inside of the lid engraved with a later presentation inscription
