Geneva, circa 1800, maker's mark "GW"
Rectangular box with rounded corners, the cover and base with octagonal reserves enamelled in translucent dark blue on a guilloché ground engraved with a vertical money pattern, within an opaque white zig-zag border on a frosted gold band decorated with stylized bouquets of flowers enamelled in opaque white, the cover centred by a circular reserve enamelled with a warrior frightened by a young lady taking off her armure, in a seaside landscape, the four side panels with horizontal translucent dark blue enamel bands of vertical wavy guilloché flanked by two horizontal opaque white stripes with taille d'épargne matted gold pellets, the four side corners decorated with gold vases on an opaque white ground flanked by two vertical foliage bands, the inside of the cover engraved with two initials in Cyrillic letters
