by René-Antoine Bailleul, marked, Paris, 1772-1773, with the charge and discharge marks of Julien Alaterre, the gold marks of the French Department of Isère for 1798-1809
Oval box, the cover, sides and base chased in two-colour gold with vertical flutes alternating with laurel husks, within borders of stylized acanthus, the cover and base centred by oval medallions depicting trophies of Love and Music surmounted by ribbon-tie crestings, the sides with four smaller oval reserves depicting trophies of Harvest and Love on matted grounds
