THIS IS A STUDY FOR THE HEAD OF SAINT LUCY IN BAROCCI'S ALTARPIECE OF THE MADONNA DI SANTA LUCIA, FORMERLY IN THE CAPPELLA DANZETTA IN SANT'AGOSTINO, PERUGIA, AND NOW IN THE LOUVRE (FIG. 1).
SEVERAL PREPARATORY STUDIES IN THE UFFIZI AND IN URBANIA ARE EXTANT, PARTICULARLY FOR THE GROUP OF THE MADONNA; TWO SHEETS IN THE UFFIZI AND IN HAMBURG RELATE TO THE FIGURE OF SAINT LUCY, M. DI GIAMPAOLO, OP.CIT., P. 106. THE PRESENT DRAWING IS THE ONLY KNOWN STUDY FOR HER.
