Another version of this pastel is in the Galleria dell'Accademia, Venice, B. Sani, Rosalba Carriera, Turin, 1988, no. 188, fig. 164. The sitter of the pastel is identified as the daughter of the French consul in Venice, Le Blond, and it was part of a group of pastels by Carriera collected by the Le Blond family. The work probably dates from May 1725, when Rosalba wrote in her diary 'Incominciato il ritratto della figlia dell'ambasciatore di Francia'. Other portraits of the members of the Le Blond family are mentioned in Rosalba's diary between 1725 and 1728.
