A CIRCULAR CARVRD IVORY BOX DEPICTING PASTORAL SCENES
FRENCH, MID 18TH CENTURY
The lid with two nymphs at a river source and the underside of the box with three putti harvesting; scenes of fishing and a farmhouse around the edge ; the underside of the lid with a label inscribed 'Collection E. EVRARD/XVIIIe. S. L.XVI/2648'. Yellow staining on interior; very minor cracks.
2¾ in. (6.4 cm.) diam.
