AN OVAL CARVED IVORY BOX DEPICTING VENUS AND ADONIS
FRENCH, 18TH CENTURY
The lid of the box depicting Venus and Adonis with Cupid and Bacchus in the background; the reverse with putti playing with grapes; with silver mounts; with two labels on the underside of the lid inscribed 'XVIIe.s/Louis XIV/2857' and 'Collection E. EVRARD' and another inside with description of the subject.
Minor cracks.
