Another example of this ivory, which is based on a marble relief in the Capitoline Museum, Rome, appears as one of the two central ivory reliefs on the famous Walpole Cabinet, commissioned by Horace Walpole and delivered to him in 1743. This cabinet, designed to house his collection of enamels and miniatures, incorporated a series of ivories which Walpole seems to have acquired while on his Grand Tour in 1740 (Wilk, loc. cit.).
