AFTER THE ANTIQUE, ITALIAN, 17TH CENTURY

A bronze statuette of Venus attaching her Sandal of the same model, with minor differences, was sold in these rooms on 26th April 1976. Although a fairly common model, the arm-bands on the present bronze are an unusual feature.
