Lot Essay

Alva was born in Berlin, in the early thirties he moved to Paris and exhibited in the Salon d'Automne. After travelling in Palestine, Syria and Greece in 1934 Alva then settled in England where he had many one-man exhibitions in London, Europe, the USA and South Africa at galleries such as the Waddington Galleries; Leger Gallery; Meltzer Gallery and Adler Gallery.
