Lot Essay
The drawer-fitted chest, with its ribbon-framed tablets of walnut, is likely to have been commissioned by Roger Wilbraham (d. 1754) for Delamere House, Cheshire around the time of his marriage in 1731 to Elizabeth, daughter of Sir Thomas Brooke, 3rd Bt. of Norton Priory.
