An oak six-leg refectory table, English, late 16th/early 17th century
of large size, the top adapted to have a single drop-flap to the reverse, the cleated plank top above a facing arcaded frieze with gadrooned edge, the bulbous reeded legs with Ionic style capitals and ring-turned bases, with block feet joined by square section stretchers, the top variously initialled T.M., R.T., R.W and T.A. and with shove-ha'penny lines to one corner, repairs, one stretcher loose -- 154in. (391cm.) 12'9" long, 31½in. (80cm.) 2'7½" wide, 25in. (64cm.) 2'1" high to the frieze, 32½in. (83cm.) 2'8½" total height
