The first signed H. Nock, circa 1780, the second first half of the 19th Century
The first with swamped sighted barrel, engraved tang (screw missing), signed engraved flat bevelled lock with roller and stepped tail (cock incomplete), figured walnut full stock (fore-end tip cracked and chipped), brass mounts including engraved trigger-guard with pineapple finial, vacant escutcheon, and horn-tipped ramrod with worm (iron parts with surface pitting), Birmingham proof marks; the second with tapering barrel struck with Lige proof, rounded lock struck with a mark (top jaw and screw missing), walnut full stock (bruised), regulation brass mounts, and iron lanyard ring
