A 19th-Century Gould-type botanist's microscope,
signed on the main pillar Cary, LONDON, the pillar with a short limb to receive the threaded nose of the body-tube, with stage mounting adjustable via rack and pinion, and threaded at the bottom to screw into a ferrule on the lid of the case, with three objectives arranged to screw onto one another, two eyepiece lenses, stage forceps (point damaged), three six-cell ivory sliders and a round paper-mounted microphotograph of the Lord's Prayer, in a blue plush-lined fitted mahogany case with two brass hooks and eyes -- 12.5cm. (4 7/8in.) wide
