A 19th Century lacquered-brass Wenham's compound binocular microscope,
signed on the Y-shaped stand ROSS, London No. 3707, with rack and pinion coarse focusing, fine adjustment, prism, double nose-piece, mechanical stage, Abbe condenser, sub-stage condenser with additional wheel condenser with mountings for shades etc. and plano-concave mirror, the limb with axis mounted on twin vertical supports over the base, with two sets of eyepieces marked A and B, various objectives including Ross 1-inch, Baker ¼-inch, Steward 1½-inch, Crouch 2-inch, a polariser, lieberkuhn by Ross, forceps and other items, contained in the original mahogany carrying case with fixed carrying handle -- 19¾in. (50.2cm.) high; a bull's-eye condenser with ball-and-socket joint, a body-tube condenser and a magnifier or condenser with mahogany pillar support and cruciform stand, all contained in a mahogany case with other items -- 10½in. (26.7cm.) wide; and a compound monocular microscope by Henry Crouch with some accessories, in mahogany case with leather handle -- 13in. (33cm.) high (A Lot)
