With two-stage barrel slightly belled at the muzzle, octagonal breech engraved 'London', engraved iron tang, signed flat bevelled lock (some discolouration, jaw screw replaced) with roller and stepped tail, figured walnut full stock with flat-sided butt (butt and fore-end repaired), full silver mounts including engraved trigger-guard with acorn finial, silver shield-shaped escutcheon engraved with the initials 'AJ', and original horn-tipped ramrod with worm (forward ramrod-pipe replaced), Tower private proof marks, silver maker's mark of Charles Freeth
