A 25-Bore Neapolitan Miquelet-Lock Pistol
Mid-18th Century
With two-stage barrel and chiselled girdle, octagonal breech struck with a brass-lined crowned 'R' mark and nine small brass-lined fleur-de-lys marks, engraved tang, engraved bevelled lock (toe of cock repaired), carved walnut stock, brass mounts finely cut with scrolling foliage in low relief, partly against a punched ground, pierced escutcheon with coronet above, pierced side-plate and rear ramrod-pipe, and associated brass-tipped ramrod (lock and barrel with light pitting)
