In season 1918-19 a two-legged play-off between the winners of the Lancashire Regional Tournament (see lot....) and the Midlands Regional Tournament (Nottingham Forest) was played to decide the Wartime "League Championship"; with the proceeds from the matches going to the National Footballs War Fund and Everton drew the first match at Nottingham Forest 0-0, with Forest winning the second leg and the "Championship" with a 10- win at Goodison in the return
