A Berlin (KPM) blue-ground topographical cabaret
Circa 1850, blue printed crowned eagle and sceptre marks and some pieces with red printed sceptre and K P M marks, various Pressnummern
Each piece painted with two named views of the Royal Palaces or other important public builings of Berlin within shaped oval cartouches within moulded gilt-scroll borders reserved on a powder-blue-ground gilt with stylised scroll, shell and foliage ornament, comprising: a tray with rocaille-scroll handles, painted with views of the Palais des Königs in Berlin and Palais des Kronprinzen in Berlin; a bullet-shaped teapot painted with Schauspielhaus in Berlin and Operhaus in Berlin, the cover with two un-named views, one of them the Schloss of Berlin; a baluster form cream-jug with the Das Cadettenhaus and the Palais des König, the cover with views of smaller buildings in landscapes (both cream-jug and cover extensively restored); an oval sugar-box and cover with the Brandburgerthor zu Berlin and the Schloss in Charlottenburg, the cover with two un-named views; the slop-basin with Das Museum in Berlin and Das Unversität in Berlin; one teacup with Die Neue Wache and the Palais des Prinzen Albrecht, the second with Das Zeughaus and Palais des Prinzen Carl, the saucers with Schloss in Berlin, Schlossbrücke in Berlin, Schloss Monbijou and Schloss Bellevue (one with one minute chip to footrim)

Provenance
Reputedly given by Kaiser Friedrich Wilhelm II to a Viceroy of India and subsequently given to Margaret Hazel, and thence by descent to the present owner
