Lot Essay

Bartolomé Estéban Murillo, Spanish (1617-1682).

The original oil on canvas, circa 1665-70, has been located in Dulwich Picture Gallery, London since 1811. The sitter recurs in other works by Murillo and is possibly his daughter, Francisca.
