Lot Essay

Baron Cuno von Bodenhausen (b. Witzenhausen 1852) attended the Munich Academy.

The present subject was inspired by a German fairy tale. See The Greenfield Collection, Christie's, New York, 20 October 2008, lot 17 for a similar example.
