Signed Bishu Osafune Sukesada and dated Eisho ju-nen hachi-gatsu hi (1513), Muromachi Period (16th Century)
The blade honzukuri, iorimune, koshi-zori, ko-kissaki, coarse mokume, bo-utsuri, suguha hamon of nioi, komaru boshi, end of tang kurijiri, file marks katte-sagari, re-shaped nakago possibly machi okuri, one hole, silvered copper habaki, 71.9cm., in its black ishimeji saya with ribbed part from koiguchi to kurikata, shakudo nanakoji fuchi-kashira decorated with bamboo, stone basin and ladle in iroe zogan, shakudo menuki formed as a group of birds, iron hachi-mokko tsuba pierced with eight matsu-bishi crests with silver rim, 101.5cm
