A Böttger red stoneware pear-shaped pilgrim flask
Circa 1715
Of flattened oval section, each side applied with a low-relief bouquet of flowers, the shoulders each with a lion's mask surmounted by shells with the jaws pierced to receive rings for suspension, the lower part moulded with a band of rosette medallions above a border of husks and up-turned stiff-leaves, the neck with moulded protruding rim above a border of down-turned stiff-leaves (edge of footrim ground, two minute chips to upper rim, ground chip to border of neck)
