A brass and steel model 'Side Rod' horizontal mill engine, built by P.E.B. Salvesen with single cylinder 1in. bore x 1½in. stroke, overhead valve chest, main stop and inlet manifold, double tapered crosshead running in pedestal mounted guides, barrelled connecting rods with marine type big end bearings, counterbalanced crankshaft, belt and gear driven governor, linkage and valve and twin spoked flywheels, on metal floor with underfloor drain valves and pipes supported on nine fluted columns on metal bed, finished in green, maroon and polished brightwork -- 8 x 11½in.
