A bronze figure of Padmapani
Northeastern India, Pala Period, 13th Century
Extremely finely cast seated in dhyanasana on a shaped double-lotus base, his left hand lowered holding a lotus bud and pointing towards it with his right, wearing multiple necklaces and a billowing sash, his face slightly tilted in a benign expression and hair piled up in an elaborate chignon, the metal with a deep brown patina
