A bronze figure of Vishnu with Mandorla
Northeastern India, Bihar, Pala Period, 9th Century
Standing on a lotus base over a stepped throne backed by a flaming mandorla, his multiple arms carrying various implements, dressed in a long dhoti with the sacred string around his torso, the matted locks piled into a high chignon centered by a seated figure and secured with a simple circlet, with two female devotees, one with four arms, at his feet, inscribed on the reverse
