A ying from the Sumitomo Collection, Kyoto, illustrated in Western Zhou Ritual Bronzes from the Arthur M Sackler Collections, vol. IIB, p. 690, fig.116.10, shares a similar spout, shoulder profile and brooding bird on the cover. Fig. 116.8 illustrates an example from Shanxi Qian Xian Xuele with similar shoulder decoration and three mamiform legs. Compare also the drawing, fig. 116.7 in the Brundage Collection, with an animal spout and mamiform legs. Fig. 116.4 illustrates a final example with comparable shoulder decoration and mamiform legs. All are dated to the late Western Zhou period.
