Lot Essay

'Ala al-Din al-Tabrizi (d.1592 AD) was a court calligrapher under Shah Tahmasp, who flourished in the third quarter of the 16th century.

A very similar panel signed by 'Ala al-Din al-Tabrizi was sold in Christie's, King Street Rooms, 13 April 2010, lot 188.
