A CARVED YAOZHOU CELADON BOWL
SONG DYNASTY (960-1279)
The bowl is of rounded conical shape with a slightly everted rim. The interior is finely carved to the centre with a flower head, surrounded by a scroll of large stylised lotus blooms radiating a dense ground of leafy tendrils. The bowl is covered overall in a semi-transluscent olive-green glaze.
8 1/8 in. (20.5 cm.) diam.
