A CASED PAIR OF 36-BORE SAW-HANDLED PERCUSSION DUELLING PISTOLS

With browned twist octagonal sighted barrels each signed in full on the top flat, scroll engraved case-hardened patent breeches each with pierced platinum plug, scroll engraved case-hardened tangs each incorporating the back-sight, case-hardened signed flat detented locks finely engraved with scrollwork and each with safety-catch, figured walnut half-stocks (varnish worn in places), chequered butts, finely engraved iron mounts including serial numbered blued spur trigger-guards, finely engraved flat oval pommels, and trigger-plates each with stylised pineapple finial, silver barrel-bolt escutcheons and fore-end caps, blued triggers, short horn-tipped ramrods, and traces of original finish: in lined and fitted mahogany case with accessories including copper and brass three-way flask, and spare mainsprings and sear-springs, the lid (repaired) with trade label for circa 1837-1891, flush-fitting carrying handle, and circular escutcheon, London proof marks
