The pen-holder modelled as an upturned conch-shell supported by two scallop shells, on a bed of coral and smaller shells, flanked by two upturned shells supported on similar beds of coral and small shells, the shaped rectangular tray painted with two loose sprays of flowers within a yellow-ground border moulded and gilt with scrolling foliage
