A CHELSEA GOLD-MOUNTED BONBONNIERE
CIRCA 1760
Modelled as a youth clipping the hairs on the back of a wild boar, he wears a turquoise hat, a flowered coat and puce breeches, the strap of his bag inscribed in iron-red POUR MON AMOUR, on a grassy mound applied with flowers and leaves, the interior with a flower-spray and scattered sprays, the hinged mount inset with an agate cover and cast and engraved with flowers and scrolls (two minute chips to boar's spine and a minute chip to brim of hat, chip to corner of bag with areas of old over-painting, slight staining to interior rim)
