A Chinese export lacquer rectangular tea caddy and hinged cover painted and heavily gilt with numerous figures on a terrace before buildings within a border of insects and precious objects, the sides similarly decorated, the interior fitted with pewter box incised with further figural decoration -- 13¼in. wide.
