the recumbent beast modelled with its head turned facing the rear, cast in relief with flame scrolls over its shoulders and haunches, the saddle bearing a crescent-shaped receptacle housing a small related mirror with calligraphy, the bronze with a dark patina, green in places with irregular gilt splashes, wood stand -- 11¾in. (30cm.) wide.
