A CHINESE SCARLET LACQUER ALTAR TABLE

Engraved overall, the rectangular top with mythological birds on an elaborate tree-trunk issuing floral branches with peonies and further flying birds on a foliate ground, the border with shaped cartouches with flying birds and trellis pattern, above a moulded Greek-key border and panelled frieze decorated with dragons and foliate scrolls, the sides with shaped aprons conformingly decorated and centred by peonies, on cabriole legs with prunus flowers and shaped feet, minor losses to decoration
